Wild Flowers Disappearing!

I love wild flowers.  It just so happens that my husband took this photo of me yesterday.  That's our dog Simon.    I admire these flowers everyday.  Their random growth smiling out from the grass as if saying "hello there!"   "Isn't the color yellow divine.?"

As fate would have it, today construction workers showed up and ripped the blossoms right out.  They're making way for a fence.  I guess so that we can become even more colorless, isolated beings.

I was heart broken.  Why are we constantly destroying the earth and all of it's beauty?  Why do we let idiot politician's get away with saying things like " there is no such thing as climate change"?

No doubt the flowers will be replaced by some plastic fence, mimicking the old fashioned picket fence.  Plastic however will last forever, whoopee!  Picket fences were made for decoration, these will  keep  prying eyes of others away.  God forbid we may wish to connect with our neighbors.

There was a lovely bee on the daisy, we are loosing the honey bee's too.  Another way that humankind is destroying itself.

About the word human-kind, isn't that the ultimate oxymoron?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.  I hope you enjoyed the flowers, get them while you still can.

I love this photo of you and your pup...the flowers are so beautiful. It is sad they tore them out. :(

Hope all is well and sunny and fine on Long Island! Wish I was there to spend some lazy summer days! No water here in Kansas...nothing to write home about anyways.

I get what you are saying 100% - it's not the earth that needs to heal - it is man that needs to heal, to take responsibility for what has been done to the earth.

I'm so with you on this, Denise! I am so sick and tired of development, stealing all of our wonderful wild areas! Recently a Wal-Mart was planning to build a store in our area, and the people in our community protested it, and (for now) the corporation has decided to shelve the plan...but will they try again at some point? Probably. As though the Wal-Mart that has already been built five miles down the road is too far for people to drive to! One silver lining to the economic recession is that there is less development and building going on. I suppose once things pick up again the bulldozers will return to our wild areas!
