When Are You Coming Home?

Here is one of the works in progress that I'm trying to finish up for my art sale next week.  I thought it was such a cute dog, waiting at the door for his Mom to come home.  A face I usually see on my own dog when he's waiting for my return. The sad look says it all.

Hope you aren't keeping your loved one waiting!  Have a great day!

That's so true about animals especially dogs, they miss us when we are gone.

How sweet, Denise! You've done a wonderful job of capturing that look that awaiting dogs seem to have. Beautiful.

Awww, so sweet and sad. I have a little 18 month old Mini Aussie and this reminds me of her. When I leave she's all bummed but when I return she wants love for 10-15 min. Poor thing must think I'm never coming back. I'd take her everywhere if I could. Love your painting! You've captured the dogs feelings very well. Happy PPF!

Forgive me for posting this comment so late, Denni - this is a lovely and wonderful painting, and you've expressed 'that look' so perfectly. My eldest cat pulls a face similar to this whenever I'm about to head out the door, which always causes me to get a bit sad and angst-y too, as I don't like leaving my 'boys' even for a little while.

Thanks for sharing this, Denni, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about your art show next week. Have a lovely weekend! - June
