Recycled paper and fabric.
Before you recycle your newspaper and magazines, I've got a good use for it. Paint it and then make crafts out of it. I made wrapping paper, journal and scrapbook paper with it.
It's so fun to do. Just get some newspaper or the shiny magazine paper, and paint it. I also painted old fabric. I used an old pillow case.
You don't need fancy paint. I used leftover white house paint to cover the print. Let it dry and then use acrylic paints, and markers to decorate it.
It comes out like this...
And this...
When you have the design you like then you can cut out images. If you are not good at drawing you can use stencils. Or just paint colors you like, let dry and then write words over it. Or scribble, it gives it a nice modern effect.
You can cut out simple shapes like circles. Then scrunch them up to look like flowers. Add a craft glue to the middle and scrunch into place. Paint glue over entire flower and let dry. I hardens to a glossy finish.
I also cut out simple hearts and butterflies and glued them to card stock.
I cut out hearts, and stuffed them and sewed them up for Valentine hearts. I'm going to make a few more and hang them in the window.
I'm going to use the flowers to put on top of gifts.
I painted some paper just for journals too.
If you're like me and stuck in the house because of winter weather, try out some of these crafts. You'll get hooked!
Enjoy your day!
