Gettin Crafty

This is what I've been up to at night.

I got the hot glue gun out last night and made a bunch of these Victorian style Ornaments.  I'm going to hang them on our Large Christmas tree when it arrives.

I put candy canes and Hersey's kisses in them and hang them on the tree.   I made some plain ones too for Advent.  I put 2 tiny bags of candy in each so that way my boys get one each day.

I've been making  little felt roses , they're so easy to make, just cut long strips of felt and roll them.  Hot glue the end piece and viola!  I added a pretty pin to this one.  I'm going to hot glue them to some flour sack towels to give as gifts.

The cones are pretty holding flowers too.

I was burning my fingers off making bows!  Glue guns are great for hardening up your fingers to any sensitivity towards heat!

The cookie making has begun!  I'll be spending many hours baking cookies and freezing them.

The old sled is out for part of our decorations.  I was going to paint it white but I think it looks cute the way it is.

Here is a coffee filter wreath I'm working on as well.  I sort of lost interest in making it after stringing 500 of them together.  There easy but very boring to make, I just string them together and watch television.  I could have hot glued them to a Styrofoam wreath and it would have taken all of 10 minutes to make but I didn't want to run to Michael's to get it.

They do look amazing though.

Here is the easiest so far...

I bought some old fashioned looking stickers and glued some twine to the back.  My kids can help with these, they have fun and it comes out perfect so they love it.

Tonight, I'm going to try and make ginger bread cookies, add string and make ornaments out of them.  I want them to look like this...who knows what they'll end up really looking like!

My next challenge is sewing...I'd like to hand sew (because I don't know how to thread a bobbin) some flowers to shirts like these...

This is going to be interesting, we'll see what happens!  Are you making anything crafty for Christmas?

Enjoy your weekend!

Love all that you've been doing. Those roses would look great on gifts wrapped in butcher paper!
