A Charles Dickens Christmas!

Yesterday, my family and I went to an event in the little Sea town of Port Jefferson, NY.  It was A Charles Dickens Christmas where the streets are filled with Dickens characters, horse carriage rides, music, jingle bells and celebration.  We went last year and had so much fun, we decided to do it again this year.  It did not disappoint.  I think this is going to be a new tradition for our family in the days leading up to Christmas day.

                        There were Christmas Carolers

Ladies dressed in lovely dresses.  This lady wondered what in the world I was doing with that little box.  When I told her I was taking her picture, she said " Is there a little man in there?"  "You should really let him out of that little box!"

We even met Father Christmas on the street.  Who like all the characters,  interact with you and are glad to take pictures with you!

We drank hot chocolate and had a marshmallow roast (All for free).

The best part is the parade where the ghost of past, present and future arrive.

Hard to see the grim reaper, but believe me he was very scary!

It was so cheery and nice to see so many people saying "Merry Christmas" to one another.

My boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Even Tiny Tim, I mean Aidan!

God bless us, every one!

I love it when
you go to something
like this and the
characters STAY in
character! And A
Christmas Carol is
just one of my most
favorite plays and
such an inspired way
to ring in the Christmas
season! Looks like you
have been very busy getting
things festive at your house.
Merry Wednesday!
